I'm idly thinking of changing one of our cars and I keep seeing these on 19 plate with highish miles (25k) at less than £24k.

In my mind that looks good value, maybe I'm wrong but is there any reason why there should be a surplus of such cars, there are loads for sale.

Crabbing my friend. Ignore the hype and snap one up, preferably with the Premium Plus pack. 👍

I think MB over supplied these and off loaded them internally as staff cars.

Or a rental / hire company ordered a job lot, although i would expect those to be a lower spec amd engine

I enjoyed my test drive in a 250 but i couldn't get one for the right price, last year.

Lennox Auto in Willesden have a few, anyone know them?

25k miles on a nearly new car is actually great, especially if your own annual mileage is low.

You'll get a good price now, and by the time you are ready to sell, the mileage will have caught up with other cars of that age and you'll have a car with low-to-average mileage to sell :thumb:

And, anyone who manages 25k miles in one year must be driving on motorways, so ex-rental or otherwise, this is actually good news.

BTW, I am a fan of the GLC, and was considering one, but I think that at this point I'll wait a little longer and eventually get the EQC (which is based on the GLC). We'll see...

EDIT: As for crabbing, isn't it only an issue on 4WD cars with low profile tyres? I would have thought that a RWD car with (say) 17" or 18" wheels should be fine?

These ones are 4 matic with 20" wheels so maybe have crabs, they would probably be due a tyre change now anyway and I'd choose soft tyres besides my M140 crabbed a bit and didn't worry me.

If I remember correctly the urban editions came out not long after I ordered my sport in 2018 and there were loads of them on very good terms. They didn’t have the highest of specs so check if it’s been well optioned

I have a 250 GLC, cars made after Sept 2018 have modified front suspension so dont crab, MB have retro fitted the mod to older cars. The Urban models are effectively SE models so have a limited spec, ie no dab radio, no rear parking sensors but do have rear camera. Best to check actual spec, I opted for the Sport over the Urban.

Are yours petrol?

If so, how do you rate them?

As I had come down from a top spec S212 350cdi it took some getting used to. Having said that it drives well but wished I had of specced the air suspension which I had in the e class. It’s also doesn’t seem as comfortable as I get a stiff right leg after a couple of hours at the wheel. I’m getting used to it now and it’s a nice drive but it seems very heavy on the juice if doing short runs. I’ve also got it on a 4 year service plan at £31 pm which I think is quite good.
All in all, bearing in mind there’s always been a gulf in luxury feel between the C and E class, I’m happy with it and it does what it says on the tin (mpg excepted)

Mine is indeed a 250 petrol, averaging 30 mpg fo my shortish runs, drives very much like the c class diesels I have run for many years, ie plenty of torque and only 1500 rpm at 70 mph. Just feels like a grown up version of the w205's I had previously.

The Urbans were brought out as end-of-run "special editions" before the mid 2019 facelifted model came out so they were keenly priced when new and a number of them were run as staff cars/demonstrators at MB dealers. I picked up a 5,000 mile 220D 19-plate example at a very good price back in February. I'd previously had a GLC Sport 220D with the off-road pack and while the loss of power-fold mirrors on the Urban is a minor dislike I can't say I've really missed the loss of parking sensors. The fact that it also has Apple Carplay/Android Auto is a big plus. It's interesting that the Urban also comes with "Night Edition" trim which is only available on the current model at circa £800 and on AMG versions only.

I've not experienced any crabbing at all even with the 20-inch alloys - something I definitely used to get with the 18-inch wheels on my old Sport.

Only bug-bear is the high gloss black centre console for the usual reasons.

Yes I miss the open pore Black Ash on my old Sport. That was classy, didn't show fingerprints or scratch easily. Shame that it doesn't even seem to be an option on the facelifted Sport.

As an aside I took my current car into the local MB dealer in June for its service and the substance that they used to disinfect the interior of the vehicle as part of MBs COVID-19 measures, stripped the glossy coating off the centre console so they had to replace it............with an identical new one (blemish free for now).

I went to look at a couple of GLC at the local dealer today.

I was a bit underwhelmed really, I'm sure that they are good cars but I wouldn't trade the 7 series and the Mrs wouldn't swap her SLK either so it looks like a non starter unfortunately.

Saw a nice E300 cab which has got me thinking of a convertible again, I have never been without one since I was 10 and did have an A4 soft top for a bit.
