GLC AMG Headlight Query

Thank you, sorry I didn’t mean to appear rude.

Just waiting for the dealer to open…
Told them I need the car Wednesday PM, initially they said they didn’t have drivers and the Adblue & battery issues will have to wait until January. I reluctantly agreed but then the dreaded 500 mile countdown came on. I’m travelling over Xmas (all being well) and I certainly don’t want to be clock watching that dropping.

I called back and they agreed to look at the car first thing tomorrow morning, only problem I have to take it there, it’s a 2hr minimum round trip, absolute joke but I need it sorting. Then I have to go and pick it up (hopefully) on Wednesday.

I’ve agreed and said I want compensation, not least the £100 I paid to have the car delivered to me in the first place but I’ll be chasing more. Not to mention my time, mileage and fuel.

I’ve read whole tanks and pumps sometimes need replacing, I hope it doesn’t come to that as that sounds like a big job. They talked about trying to flush it first.

And I’m not sure if it has that second smaller battery, I’m hoping whatever battery needs replacing its in stock and it’s one of the easier of the 2 issues to resolve.

What a nightmare, but you have been good getting it all sorted so far, my fingers are crossed for you, good luck tomorrow.

Thanks. I’m not even going to mention all the other shite going on right now so don’t really need this.

I think if they hadn’t sorted they would have had the car back on the forecourt for sale. I really don’t want a 2hr trip tomorrow morning but it’s where I’m at.

My daughter has had her land rover in Chelmsford land rover for 6 weeks, they fitted a new dpf £1600 3 months later, they say it needs a new dpf again Land rover say they will pay half, chelmsford say they are not going to be out of pocket even though they fitted the part so the row goes on 6 weeks what a bunch of w***ers. So you are getting it sorted. Moral of the story don't take anything to Chelmsford Land Rover. They also have a 19 year old c class and never had any troubles.

Sounds like a right nightmare, sorry for your troubles.

Hopefully your daughter gets sorted.

Problem being no one cares and can't even threaten them, no one give a shit.
What a morning. After about 3hrs sleep I made the 50 mile trip to the dealer. I can’t fault the sales guy, I said I’d be there 8:30 and they took the car straight in.

They tried to flush the adblue first but that didn’t work, they ended up replacing the level sensor. They also replaced the battery, now I’ve no warnings and the stop/start works! I had to wait 2hrs but it saved driving back an hour only to have to go back again.

Inconvenience to me and 100 mile of fuel…

Below the eco stop/start, is there a way to change from km to miles? My main trip data all shows in miles but this one is stuck on km.

So for now I’m happy, I’ve had quite a few things done since buying it so hopefully no more surprises in the near future.

It is like that so if you travel abroad you have the speed, your main is in miles. the only time you will notice that is when you switch off the stop start :) i'm glad you got it sorted :thumb: fingers crossed.

It’s meant to show km/h there even when units are set to mph. In the old days there were both scales/units printed on the speedo dial, but now the dial is in mph and there’s a digital km/h.

And the Adblue warning/not able to read level/500 mile countdown is back. So whatever they said they ‘fixed’ lasted a week.

I wasn’t going to bother chasing compensation for the last trip for my time and fuel but I will now, this is so frustrating.

Am I right in thinking I can take this to a local MB garage and have it resolved under warranty even though I didn’t purchase the car there?

I’ve had the car since Tuesday and I think they have been steamed up since then. I haven’t been out in the car more than 20 mins and the lights are set to auto.

Does everyone else’s GLC have lowered dipped lights on the right?

Another thing I’ve noticed is that the drivers door handle doesn’t sit flush when closed, it has dropped a little. Is this a common problem and am I within my right to ask for this to be corrected?

Thanks again
As several others have said, the beam cutoff is correct for a RHD car.

Aye not bothered with that anymore, I was just never used to it on previous cars.

I’ve just Adblue to worry about now ffs
