That's a shame. Neither of my 202's rattled, and for me driving a Mercedes is because of the quietness and comfort - a rattle would ruin the whole experience and make it almost pointless to be in personally.
As for suggestions for the OP to change to Volvo, I'm still unable to delete the permanent image I have of Volvo drivers being at least 80 and wearing hats!
I have no axe to grind with MB having had two superb cars with not so much as a rattle, and superlative service from the dealers.
I understand those who cannot get their heads round a V**** - indeed I have shared the same view for most of my life and even now I would not be seen dead in something like an XC/V70.
And yet, my head was turned by the XC60 and I took the plunge earlier this year.
What a revelation for comfort, ride quality and practicality - and yes performance. This car is by far the most impressive I have ever owned - far more nimble and comfy than my ML, and very well put together. No rattles or squeaks and so far it has not missed a beat (touch wood).
Sure, Volvo has issues - what company doesn't? But with their new 60 and 40 series out of the blocks and massive Chinese investment in new XC60s and XC90s, then they're well worth a test drive...
