Hi guys, looked at a Mercedes-Benz C Class C180K Coupe 02 plate that had done 77k miles. In very good condition, no rust, FSH, couple of owners. The dealer wants around £2,900, do you think it is a good deal? Doesn't seem like to much mileage.

It's cheap 'cos it's a poverty-spec manual. You'll find hill starts tricky with a manual 'box and the foot-operated parking brake. Mercedes auto boxes are well-thought-of and good; the manual boxes are not so well-thought-of.

Yes. A lot of people have mentioned the foot operated brake. Does look like it will be awkward, test driving it tomorrow so will see how it goes.

Everyone has said autos are the best on the Mercs, just hard to find a decent auto for around £3000 :(

A lot of car for the money if you can live with manual transmission and cloth seats. Driver's door appears to be different colour (may just be the photo though).

All said though it isn't a lot of money.

Ha and that's me sold a 01 c230k coupe earlier in the year for 2 grand with not much takers. Only done 14k miles fsh, all the mot's heated leather and auto.
Never again....

Think I may have found a better deal, less miles and an automatic. The dealer sounds like they want to get rid as they just took it as a part-ex. Although it is a little more can probably get the price down.

Mercedes-Benz C Class C200K SE 3dr Auto Sport Coupe 1.8

What do you think?

Much better car. Although more money it's a much better car with desirable auto and leather should you wish to sell on one day

The second one is a much better option and looks like a nice clean car. Automatics are always preferable for Mercs.
Make sure all electrics work, also the panoramic roof as they can be troublesome and expensive to repair. Check that the air-con blows icy cold and hopefully it will come with two working keys, as replacements cost £227.

Details held on the DVLA website, re registration date and road fund licence charges. (Don't understand the 'Date of Liability' - surely it should be 01/10/2013 if the tax expired at the end of September).

Thanks for the response guys. Spoke to the dealer today and unfortunately the car had already been sold.

Did just notice this though: Mercedes-Benz C Class C230K SE 3dr Seq Auto 2.3 HUGE SPEC. and ONLY 44k

What do you think?

Although a lot of people are saying 02 plates are really bad for rust. So am I better getting an 03/04 plate with a lot more mileage on it?

What do you guys think about this car with 44k miles on it for £3500? Looks good providing the bodywork is in good order

Try private sellers? Will be cheaper than traders. You might even get a 2004 facelift for 4k.
