Hello All,

Just joined the mbclub and would like to know of a reputable parts supplier

I have a 230 e on a 92 plate with the lower ball joints being a bit of a monkey to get out, the arm rubbers look like they have had their day (although not an advisory on the mot) and was thinking to change the lot whilst apart.

Thank you in advance.

Matthew

I use Mister-Auto,good genuine parts for low prices. Carparts4less is quite good aswell,I think they are the same as EuroCarParts but slightly cheaper for the exact parts

Eurocarparts are very well priced, especially when you use the mbclub discount voucher code MBCLUB30. Also its worth checking out MB themselves as certain parts can be surprisingly well priced too.

My advice don't use Mister Auto
My car is booked in for some work Monday am
Ordered from MrA last Monday night
Kept chasing for a delivery until I was told after 4pm yesterday
Sorry we haven't got the parts to send you but you can have a refund if you want!
I couldn't get bits from ECP & CP4L in time so ended up at MB
Otherwise I would have gone CP4L
GSF look good too
Do a bit of searching to find the make of part that's best then shop around for the best deal.
You have a discount code on here for ECP but if spending a few quid CP4L usually work out cheaper. Daft because they are the same company

I use ECP and GSF,between them they keep me going for most stuff.

Well my experience with Mister Auto had been flawless all the time, got my orders within 48hrs as promised by FEDEX. ECP are good but not sure what the catch is with CP4L as they are same company but 1 website is cheeper. Who is GSF?

German Swedish French, they have a good website.

Agree with the above.

MB dealers can be competitive on certain parts.

Have used Mr Auto before but wouldn't use them for time critical stuff, also they are based in Europe I think so its a little more hassle in case you need to return stuff. If I remember correctly you could pay an extra few £s to make the return process a little easier.

I think the difference between ECP and CP4L is the fact that you can collect/return from an actual store hence the difference in price. Not used CP4L yet but use ECP a lot for both delivery and click+collect.

Have used GSF quite a lot as well but only in store.

I have found that none of the above are universally the cheapest. Also I would almost always recommend going for the OE spec/manufacturer as from my experience there can be quite a difference in part quality

You don't need to remove the wishbone to replace the balljoints. If you do you'll need a 4-wheel alignment afterwards

That said, replacing the wishbone bushes is a good idea as they do break up over time. Removing them, and the wishbone bolts, is not easy

You'll find quite a good parts supplier in most cities - it's called the Mercedes parts department. With mission-critical parts like these, and where the time cost is greater than the parts cost, I find MB parts superior

To give an example, fitting a set of springs from ECP only to find they are incorrect is boring, futile and a waste of time and money. Fitting the correct part from MB removes all the uncertainty

Try Wunderpartz. The director is a merc enthusiast and their customer services is first class and prices are fabulous.

Hi guys,

I think its fair to say that no one supplier can be the cheapest, however with the 30% forum discount code, i think you'll find we are cheaper more often than any body else.

Add that to our Click & Collect service from soon to be 150 branches, or Same Day, Next Day or Economy delivery - We're onto a winner

And then stir in the fact that we stock more parts, and a wider choice of brands than any other car parts supplier in Europe - Then hopefully you'll see why we are the number one in the UK

Oh, and add the fact that you get me and Kunal on the forum, its Win win :)

But, on a serious note, if your ever looking for a part feel free to drop us a PM and we'll happily help!

Pat

Thank you All for your advice.

I will let you know who I use and the experience had.

Thank you again.

and a wider choice of brands than any other car parts supplier in Europe -

But how many of these brands are ECP own brands?

Q-Drive, Guttmann, EIS, Eicher, Lion, Crosland? Etc?

"Sogefi Group discontinued the UK-only Crosland filter range – at the time its smallest filter brand – in 2010; transferring Crosland customers to the other Sogefi brands Fram and CoopersFiaam. The ‘Crosland’ UK registered trademark was then recently sold to Euro Car Parts. Although the trademark sale allows Euro Car Parts to sell filters in Crosland boxes in the UK and Ireland, Sogefi has discontinued any product supply agreement in relation to Crosland. This means that the Crosland-boxed filters now being offered by Euro Car Parts are not manufactured or supplied by the Sogefi Group, which takes no responsibility for the range and the products"
