Goodwood FOS was Wonderful!!!

Roasty toasty hot today!

S Class looked very good, the white AMGs I felt were tedious - same range as the previous year bar the CLA.

I like the Range Rover stand, all the vehicle colour samples were painted cycle racing helmets and the leather samples were rugby balls.

Still too darn hot though....

Saw a Maclaren P1being tested in traffic jam conditions on the M25 on Thursday. It was lhd with a UK plate, the passenger (who had to be an engineer from his skin complexion) constantly checking the laptop.

Rather wonderful looking thing.

S Class did look terrific in the flesh.

For me the highlights production car wise where the Alfa 4C, the Brabus CLS, and the new Porsche GT3.

Also the Maser Ghibli looked great in the flesh as well, inside and out, I always thought it looked all wrong in the pictures I have seen.

Those alfas are beautiful looking machines. The classic merc racers didnt look too shabby either!!

I also thought the Skoda Octavian VRS estate looked great, and great VFM

New Octavia design has out-Audied Audi .. bang up to date, love the clean crisp lines. Great to see a car that is not had too much decoration foisted on it.

I think I may have photographed every single car!

That Rolls Royce Silver Wraith looks fantastic, Bentley GT meets Ford Mustang MkII

I'll tell you what didn't look good; the airforce emulsion blue Rolls Royce with black wheels. It looked like the corsa boys had done it!

This will be the one. I loved the new interior as well.

Tv screens looked an afterthought and fragile - maybe not production?

On Saturday we were told we couldn't use the key holders gallery despite having 3 keys for 3 of us, reason they said was it was full. When we went across to the front of the stand it wasn't full so we trooped back o be told it was for invited s class VIPs - Grrrrr and an email to MB on Monday.

Best key hospitality was (again) jaguar as last year, they knocked spots off MB, Audi and BMW

Big up to ford for free easy ice lollys

Atom stand had mr atom happy to chew the fat

Tech tent has Spanish ford guy who talked us through the 1.0 ecoboost turbo with 125bhp and a huge flat torque curve, it's in all cars soon plus the tranny!!

Porsche restaurant hot, pricey and not as good as last year.

Here's my best tip for a quiet drink and sarnie no matter how busy - in moving motor show tent just behind is the Goodwood aviation display with a nice bar serving sarnies, it's never too busy and has a bandstand next to it and loos nearby.

This year we stayed at Chewton Glenn to catch Chris Evans but as the dates changed we missed him and as a hotel experience I can think of better places to stay - back to the 4 seasons next year unless any better suggestions.

2013 - our best Goodwood in 4 attended

(I got a great deal on a teak garden set as well)

I've been to 3 and agree 2013 was the best yet!

I went on Friday and had a fantastic time.

Way home on the A303 I was treated to the spectacle of a Ferrari somethingorother, being chased by an XJ220, being chased very closely by a.......Mondeo Estate!!! Can't blame a bloke for trying I suppose.

Many thanks Greg for all the photo's, I went last year, which was great. Working this year, shame as I would have liked to have seen the new S-class.

Peter I think you'll love the new S Class. I look forward to your review:)

I went for the first time this year and really enjoyed it.

Really liked the chrome Blue Gulwing on the Mercedes stand, though not sure how the colour would do for day to day use
