I've just tried to access the "number plates" thread and found myself redirected to the following page:

Can one of the admins/mods please look into this.

My McAfee is blocking content as dangerous on this forum under 'New Posts'.
so I leave them blocked; and look at what I can - not satisfactory is it.

Maybe advert banners hosted at a fishy address is triggering it?

I'm getting oriental brides type adverts again although it's a rather dull Ford Nectar points ad as I type!

I'm getting Sprinter Van Sales at 'enzamotors' at the moment.

Oriental brides sounds much better :D Then again......maybe not!

No one had any ' local slags ' yet ?

Surely no one is going to admit to that or perhaps with a glass of New Year cheer in hand, they may do ;)

You've just saved my life. Mrs Ringway is sat beside me and those adverts popped up. Thought I was going to have some explaining to do. :o :D

I've just noticed in IE9 that most posts where a model is referred to, say W210 for example, have random hidden links inserted, typically to ebay, but to other sites also.

Happy New Year everyone!

Yes, this is now happening in Chrome, too. While checking the caption competition thread, I noticed that the word "trousers" now links to a page advertising American workman's apparel.

Those will be some add-on which is enabled in your individual browsers ..not an IE or Chrome error but an add-on your inadvertently agreed to I would think... Check your add-ons in your browser settings...

I've only noticed them today and haven't (knowingly) changed any browser settings recently. Also, it's not the usual double-underlining in green that you tend to see with with embedded advertising links, this is just a single underline in black. I assumed it was something that had been added to the site to generate revenue, like the banner ads.
