Greasing Inner Wheel Bearings

What make tyres do you have?

Are they "feathered"?

Good point, I had considered the tracking, as it all gets quite noisy in the low frequencies below 10mph. However, all seems fine on the tyres. I swapped one over for the spare (different tread pattern and no wear at all) but made no difference at all.

Tyres are Michelins and treads are as smooth as could be expected.

Update. Taken a while to get round to it but I've now replaced the bearings (30%off at Eurocrats, all for around £100 for a pair of whole husband bearings - couldn't resist!).

I have now lost much of the noise, but still have that low frequency at low speeds. It increases slightly if I turn right - is there a problem with the left hand learning still?

Within the bearings etc themselves all was good and clean apart from some burnishing and feelable ridge on the bottom of the stub axle under the inner bearing. Would this suggest the previous bearing rotated on the shaft? Should I be worried (don't want to change the stub if I don't need).

Thanks, I think you're right, looking forward to a tyre change for the first time my life! (although I did put the spare on as an experiment, made no difference).

Unless the slight wear on the spindle is causing some issue or other.
