There is good reason the narrow front tyres work and the stability is good, because the narrow front track keeps both tyres fully in contact instead of all the steering transferring to the outer wheel and the wider the track the less stable a car is due to the tyres gripping and causing turning torque.
This is why dragstrers have narrow rear track.
