I just felt like sharing the above expectations experience I received in the last few days from MB (and my broker) in the change from my last SLK to the new one, delivered on friday.

Being a little OCD in caring for cars (and everything really) my outgoing SLK had been VERY well looked after. Not a single mark of any kind in or outside it for the 8000 miles and two years I leased it.
The guy who came from BCA to inspect it was complimentary about the condition of the car as was the collection driver who came a couple of hours later.

But what was most amazing to me, was the letter I received from MB today thanking me profusely for the excellent care I had lavished on the car!! An extremely polite letter and totally unexpected. Got me to thinking how other people who return cars get treated by MB.

And, the icing on the cake, the new SLK is fantastic. Although essentially the same car as before (AMG Sport CDI) it has more equipment (the airscarf is lovely and the Becker nav is very good) but also the seats are more comfortable and the ride on the Pirelli P Zeros much more compliant and less jarring.

Altogether, a very, very good experience from everyone I dealt with on the swap from previous to new.

Thank you MB (and Select Contracts) if you happen to be reading this! :)

are the seats different?

what were the tyres on the old car?

Pics coming as soon as I download... :)

The seats are more padded and with what seems like softer leather and the previous car had Contis. These Pirellis have a more aggressive tread pattern but must have a softer compound because road imperfections that used to bang and jar the old car, the new one just seems to glide over!! :)

Here's a quick phonecam pic... taken at a water mill in Barton Le Clay on friday afternoon :)
