Greatest Car Movie Chases

Not too sure of the Title of the movie, but it's the one where you think they have got away and only to crash into a train right at the end. I liked that one, it might have been Crazy Mary, dirty Larry??? :)

Movie chases

"Fear Is The Key" also with Barry Newman (Vanishing Point) - the chase goes on for ages. A great suspense ending as well. And check out a young Ben (sorry Sir) Ben Kingsley.

Hi MikeL
Where have you been all our lives :D ?

You have been sorely missed. Interesting debate regarding the possibility of rejecting a newish SLK???

There is also a defectors thread ;) that has talked about the new 5 series and options. Not that your very nice car has many

Nice speaking to you again,
Take care,
John

Not neccessarily a car chase but in "Driver" a beautiful (orange I think!) old e-class gets impressively smashed up in a carpark by a the title character showing off his skills :)

Ford Torino 2 Door, pre-dates Starsky & Hutch version by a few years - similar in profile to the Dodge Charger (1968).

Plus loads of police cars..............

Thanks for the message.

It has been a long story, John.......... I'll try and post some pics of the car though - needs cleaning (again).:)

Oh John, guess what the first "06" car I saw was? Correct, Black SLK!

You could almost start a new thread with that. I would have except the first 06 I saw was a tractor!

I think it was 300SEL 3.5 Shude, yes very good, very clever driving a good film.

Was I right about it being orange? :)

Excellent article. A bit of film trivia to come out of that, Carey Loftin, one of the stunt co-ordinators, also played the murderous truck driver in Duel.

The last chase at the end of the Blues Brothers when they get chased by two police forces and the Army.

What about the film Taxi? 500E car chase - movie not so good - car chase is great even though the 500E's get beaten by a Peugeot 406!

The car chase at the start of "The Hidden" is pretty awesome, an alien hopping from body to body with a penchant for Ferraris, and the other alien 'cop' persuing him has a thing for Porsche 928s

Hi All

I can think of 5 ... Bullit, Ronin, French Connection, Vanishing Point, Driver.

REGARDS Phil

Agree with Phil,
Bullit has to be number 1, although I don't care what they say some of the scenes have been speeded up. Like the shot where they leave the city and head out onto the dual carriageway and the Musi barrels around a bend so fast that an enzo would have fallen off.
Ronin number 2, excellent driving and using a metallic brown 6.9 must be a first.
What was the name of the film with Jack Nicholson (I think it was witches of eastwick) where he abuses a M100 600, that was a first.
click the video link below particular fast motion and you'll understand why I could not help myself and bought this Camaro. Sounds just like the Bullit Mustang :D
