Greatest Car Movie Chases

I am a BIG fan of V8 engines - just can't bring myself to run one as my everyday car these days. Anyway, my favourites, and almost exclusively because of the ROAAARRRR of the V8's are: Bullit, Vanishing Point, and.......Mad Max! :bannana:

And not forgetting George Cloney in Peacemaker (on last night - Well it was better than BB7) where he uses a S500 to take apart 3 or 4 BMW 5 series.......

Ronin --bbc1 on 28 dec

For anyone who hasn't seen it RONIN is screened again of BBC 1 AT 11.20PM THURS 28TH Dec 06 VIDEO PLUS code 626409

Although they don't compete at the same level as Ronin or Bourne Identity there are some good scenes in Romeo Must Die (features a C43 AMG - in Silver of course!!!).

Bad Boys is also great with the 993 Turbo and AC Cobra on a runway and a great soundtrack.

The Bullit chase was filmed in different scenes, with amny camera angles of the same shot, how else could the Charger lose (at least) six wheeltrims...

They seemingly use 3 Chargers? although other stories say just one... who knows!

Then there's the VW that gets passed and repassed and repassed .....

The chase under the train in French Connection had more impact on me
when I first saw it than the Bullitt one.

Its a 964 Turbo 3.6 ;)

I'll get my coat ..... :o

Weren't there a couple of W124s (incl. an E500) in the french film, 'Taxi'?

They were going fairly quick, though I'm not sure if a Peugeot 406 is as fast as it was in the film :)

Ooops, forgot how old it was, you're right (maybe I should get my coat instead!) - perhaps I should have said 911 Turbo ;)

Bought it from www.play.com a few weeks ago for a paltry £3.99 delivered. Sacrilege for such a classic film!!

Car Chases on National Geographic tonight for those with HD 9.00pm.... bound to be repeated

The Dartford tunnel- NOT!

Just found this clip of the Bourne Supremacy on U-tube . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCHzmKplMi0 See a Volga taxi demolish several Mercs including a rather mean G class Just like the Dartford tunnel in the rush hour really.

I read somewhere that the producers arranged that only their cars were on the road during filming, to save legal problems.

Yeap a couple of 500's used in this movie.

True, not the best film in the world but the scene with the MB in the square was memorable (sadly not great for the car) but I remember seeing it the first time and being very impressed - not only with the apparent strength of the car but also at how moved I was with Clooney's acting and seemingly menacing streak lol - it didn't last long:p
