Hi,

I have a 209, clk 240 cabriolet 2004.

It developed a grinding noise on the rear drivers side wheel hub (i think).

I’ve taken a vid to better explain.

The scrapping noise is only clockwise, ie forwards not reversing.

Any ideas? I didn’t see any immediate stone obstruction between the back plate and rotor so don’t think it’s that.

Thanks in advance

Something stuck between the disc and backplate or early signs of pad wear.
Check the back plate and pretty certain there’s nothing there and actually pushed the plate further away from the rotor.

In the vid I rotate the wheel so you can hear the scrape then loads of reverse rotation and nothing. Then clockwise rotation it scrapes.

Weird that’s it’s only one direction. Bearing??

The backplate rot's out , the spring(s) fall out and cause all sorts of $hit . As you can see the friction material can fall off . Pop the disc off and have a look. Replacing the rotted dust shields is a hub off job , or they can be cut and fitted .
