Metal scratching sound coming from rear wheel

Remove the front wheel and look for a stone trapped in between disc and back plate,... Back plate might only be loose

I might be over simplifying this but last time I had a stone trapped between disc and wheel (happened twice on one of previous Audi's) I simply stopped the car, reversed about 3 feet and the stone just dropped out?
