Group Buy of Isoft CR Pro ($$ Discount)

Just checking a couple of points about this tool.

1.
Does it have an internal battery that needs charging via USB?
Or does it get all the power it needs for operation from either the USB cable whilst doing and update, or the OBD2 whilst connected to the car?

2.
Is the update "Software Update for iCarsoft V1.0&V2.0 Products"
Software Update for iCarsoft V1.0&V2.0 Products-iCarsoft Inc.

It's arrived:banana:

Now according to the website I need to make sure the latest software is installed, so I too am awaiting an expert to answer MrGreedy's question.

No.
Yes.

Think it should be the V2.0 but we can check with the seller.

Mine has just been delivered :)

All done.

The update in MrGreedy's post above is indeed the one and includes a database update for Benz, as MB is called in the device, so is worth doing. The video on the update page gives a good explanation of the process and is worth watching.

Having downloaded the updater tool and attempting to run it, you may get a warning from Windows about an unknown software publisher. Click on 'more info' and select 'Run anyway'.

I am doing the update now, I just chose all car types, and reduced languages to just UK, 372mb
note, its worth doing the update even if you dont need it as that verifies that you have a genuine unit and not a cheaper clone that cannot be updated.

Good point

Not that any 'tech' or IT product has ever been crashed by a bad patch or corrupted update......:wallbash::wallbash:

Mines on its way for today
Off to Devon this weekend so will try it out on the QQ (taking the whole family and associated cr*p), but if he wants to, BiL's 3 series (I know!) and even SiL's Lexus

Will report back

Got mine today.

Quick check and it had Firmware V19.09 installed.

Easy enough to update to the latest Firmware V19.12

I must say I am hugely impressed. Mine also arrived today, and I have scanned my '09 S211 and my wife's '08 Ford Fiesta. The tool read all sorts of modules perfectly on both cars, and certainly goes significantly deeper than a simple ODBII scanner.

£200 very well spent in my opinion.

Only downside to the tool is it reinforces how poverty spec my car is, as there are probably 15 additional modules it could scan if the first owner of the car had ticked some boxes on the order form. :)

Martin.

I suspect that's the cheaper units from ebay and Aus. I'd be suprised if we got them from the official UK distributor.

Hmmm, mine didn't turn up today. :(
Will chase first thing ......

No yet, had to fix my Dewalt combi-drill, had it in bits on kitchen table and I was asked "you doing that to save a few bob".

Will road test it on something in morning.
On the kitchen table.......dangerous kind of place to be working !!!

Mine arrived yesterday. Played with it last night. Really impressed. Upgrade worked fine. Nice padded case so I can't lose the cables.

Happy bunny.

Ordered Wednesday, but will take a day or so longer to get to Ireland.

Not a brilliant start with mine.

Was out getting oil in the W212 so stuck it onto that.

Does the same error if Manual scan is selected.
