I must say this is a mighty fine car. Yes its not as exciting as my TTS was and it is as silent as a nun on the run but i love it. Engine is like a torpedo from 40-80. Comfort is outstanding and the looks this car gets is unreal. Honestly I live in Northern Ireland and driving through Belfast ive had kids hang out the window of their parents A4 drooling. Ive had people stop and point and the ladies seem to go all wobbly when they catch a glimps!

BUT - I put the car on Autotrader at £42 950 if anyone is interested in looking and i have a dealer in Kent very very interested! The price I paid was £39 750 so I am very tempted to let it go at that price IF they follow through and buy it. I know i'll miss it and will probably order another one and try and get something none loss making in the interium but as a business man £3k profit in a week is hard to knock back.

DI LEM AAAAA

As a businessman you should learn to count, that sounds like a 7k loss ;)

On autotrader after a week? You obviously really like it then!

that's amazing

Yes.

Especially as despite being new there seem to be quite a few used low mileage E350CDIs Coupe Sport models becoming available at dealers. And there are more waiting to expire as short term demonstrators over the next two or three months on 59 plates.

If a <6K E350CDI on an 09 plate is going at a sticker price of £37K then one might assume that even if the turnover is relatively quick then a dealer would be aiming for at most £35K or maybe £36K if they can get quick turnaround while waiting for more stock to become 'used'.

There are quite a few secondhand/ ex demo coupes on the MB site, so I do find this rather odd too that they should comand such a premium, particularly as the dealer will then have to add their 'bit' to the price ??

Good luck - personally I would order a new one and wait....in a while the "novelty factor" will have diminished......pay a premium for a non limited production car....sorry just don't see that being logical especially in recessionary times.

Loved the sales patter - children hanging out of A4 windows.....all you needed to add was a Clarksonism - "snaps knicker elastic at 50 yards"...and it would be complete.
