Happy Birthday to my old motor.
£2700 5 years ago with 120k miles.
Now on 200k miles.
Still goes like a train.
(It would be nice if I could re-edit the spelling mistake in the heading)

Just a pup ;-)

They really do take miles in their stride... look after them and they will look after you.

Cheers 230K !
This is my second E300TD.
My first got wrecked when hit head-on by a boy-racer speeding up the wrong side of the road.
Safe car too ... Saved my life.

This one averaged 38.1 mpg over 1023 miles on my recent holiday.

I love 'em.

As previously said, Look after them and they will look after you.

I put my money into my 1994 W124 and just think of it as shouldering the depreciation costs on an as and when basis, instead of having a depreciation hit at the end of ownership of a much newer car.

Great going chaps!

My E300TD is still eating up the miles.
Now 215,000 miles and still going strong.
It's looking a bit shabby though.

my green E300D is on 280k and SWMBO silver E300D is at 250k. Both are looking a bit rough nowadays but I do plan on doing a light restoration on them both at some point. Both cars are keepers.

Unfortunately I'm ripping the ass out of my E300TD on a daily basis in all weathers.
I tarted up the body-work around a year ago, but the door bottoms, the door pillars and the rear wheel arches, etc are looking a bit sad once again.
The winter has not been kind to it.

The trouble is ... I do love the old bus.
Referring to the 124/210 debate, this car is not unloved.
It still runs like a train, plenty of power, comfort and some style (albeit a bit dated).

I wish it would see me out ..... But it won't

Never get sentimental over old cars.
My previous E300TD was equally loved.
It took just one crazy boy-racer on one evening ... And that was the end of that.
Great car ... Saved my life !!

Wow, not surprised they last forever if they're geared to do over 40mph at tickover!
