I think a W126 Interior is Hard to beat quality wise, Functional and well put together

I'm just looking at the new CLS on pistonheads and, to me, it seems like the interiors have become way too busy with different materials, colours and textures.

See the image below of a small area of the door

There is...

1. brown leather
2. grey leather
3. chrome
4. matt silver
5. carbon fibre
6. blueish silver speaker grill
7. textured plastic
8. smooth plastic (lock/unlock switches)
9. satin chrome (door pull)
I think the interiors are getting too fussy now, MB are going for the younger market where bling is better at the moment.

In an accident, there was a solid steel bar connected directly to the front wheels that you go through your chest at about the same time as you'd bump your head on the bakelite steering wheel. You were part of the crumple zone. "History is told by the Survivors."

My father (who was a senior fireman) always said that car manufacturers should put a big spike in the middle of the steering wheel - to slow mad drivers down, rather than fit airbags and other safety kit!!

And on the 7th day God invented metallised plastic. And the people were sore afraid renting their clothes and crying out what plague is this Lord. An God said "chill dudes its nasty but its cheap" and the people rejoiced. Here endeth the lesson. ;)
