HD PC Video Cards

Has anyone bought one of these yet for some HD games, i've noticed coming out. My Laptop has a Radeon card, but i'm stuffed to see what the new half life Lost Coast looks like,... are they worth an upgrade?? Some people say HD TV's are already out of date technology, so why is gaming pushing it now?

Edit 2: XBOX 360 will be HD Ready!?
