hi again, I wonder if your pool of knowledge might be able to help again! I have just put new bulbs (100w xenon  ) in the main beam and now the main is cr*p!! it's pointing too high but when I adjust it, the dip is then too low. my question is can the main beam be adjusted alone or is it the naff bulbs? How much are bi-xenons to fit? just a thought coz my old eyes have had it for night driving!!:D

hi david, dont no when you posted this so i may be going over old ground but, your 100w xenon bulbs are only slightly brighter than standard thay are supposed to throw a better patern in front, proper after market xenon kits are the way to go, from £250/350 approx, you must ensure you get ones with bulb failure system protection ,.. [hid kits] should get you on a site.

Have you tried any of the "50%" Xenon bulbs like Osram Silverstars, which give 50% more output than standard halogen bubs while remaining within the legal 60 watt limit? I have them in my R129, and they are excellent. Widely available, I got mine from PowerBulbs:

http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/

100W bubs pull a lot more current ... 2 x 55 watts is 9.1 amps, 2 x 100 watts is 16.6 amps. Probably more than the wiring / connectors / relays are designed to handle, so be careful.

thanks all for your help, I think I'll give power bulbs a go, not thought of extra power drain but I thought the bulb failure warning system might have thrown a wobbly!:)
