Heads up Lidl Car Stuff...

Does anyone know if the battery charger is like a ctek maintenance charger, can it be left connected permanently ?

Yes it can, I always leave mine on charge when we go on holiday to Spain for two weeks and on our return the Battery is always fully charged.

haha would have thought MB owners would not have shopped in Lidl

Lidl (and Aldi) sell some good stuff.

Well my local Lidl has more new Mercs/Beemers/Audis/Jags than I ever see at Tesco's. My wife's theory is that folks with a few bob know the value of money. I must say it's the quality of the produce at Lidil that secures my custom. Knocks the spots off most of the other supermarkets, it really is very good indeed.

Well I think I win the prize for the tool of the week :D Saw V12's post and hared off from work to the local Aldi as I missed the Battery charger at Lidl, none on show at Aldi so I rush across town to the other store, none there either, leaving feeling a little deflated as I'd missed out again I saw the poster advertising next weeks deals  That's the first time I've arrived anywhere a week early :fail I'll be there when they open next Thursday though to make sure I get one :thumb:

Moral of story read the feckin post properly

Forget value... lidl is one of the few places that sells toma (a cheese from the italian/french alps), as well as proper german sausages and has a better selection of branded hams than waitrose... It's a little far from my house, but quite near to my client's datacenter, so is usually a good lunch run! Not everything they have is great, but it's about picking and choosing ;)

On the chargers, thanks for the heads up - grabbed 4 the other day so now I should be able to maintain some more batteries in addition to those in the bikes!

Agreed. But you didn't mention the herrings:D:D

True, but the stuff that is good is excellent :D:D

Is the same to be said about lidl and Aldi quality wise? Have never been to either so was wondering

I do the majority of my shopping at Aldi. The biggest problem with both Aldi and Lidl is that they have a limited range.

Most of their stuff is at least of reasonable quality and some is absolutely amazing. My daughter has a ski jacket and walking shoes from there, both are excellent quality and cost peanuts, the ski-jacket is still like new despite the amount of wear she's had out of it and she prefers the shoes over the ones her Gran got for her that cost 10 times as much (tested by walking up and down mountains in the Alps 2 weeks this summer). I have some ratchet spanners which have outlasted name-branded. I could go on...
