So yesterday was a fun day in the sun. I was on the M25, going to join the M3, about a mile before Junction 12 going anti clockwise, when everything stopped. Turns out a lorry exploded and closed the Motorway in both directions. For five hours. In the burning noon sun, from 11am until 4pm, with no shade or water.

So today I'm off work with a headache and light hurts my eyes :-(

Edit: The lorry has been cleaned up now.

Nobody said anyone had to buy it!

I think it's called the law of supply and demand, all businesses use it.

At around 3pm, a bunch of 18-20 year old girls from a nearby girls college turned up. They each had three carrier bags from Tesco, containing economy bottled water. They walked up to cars, and gave out the water. Didn't charge a penny for it. I got talking to them, they said that they can see the motorway from their windows, and they asked permission from their teachers to go and distribute some water to the people stuck in their cars in the blazing heat. They absolutely refused to take any money - each of them had contributed to buying the water, and they just wanted to help. There was a mother of three children in the car in front of me, who was just *so* grateful - she had run out of water and kids find that hard. I was also extremely grateful.

Things like this really restore my faith in humanity.

There is a difference between~:

(i) being in business at a profit and

(ii) blatent exploitation of human misery when your "customers" are in a position such that they have no option other than to pay the extortionate prices demanded for a commodity or service.

Hang on, that very much sounds like a Dealership..........
