C32 AMG W203 Estate
Hi There

I have C32 AMG Estate, leather seats that are heated, however the back heats up bu no the bottom part on both seats?

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Richard

If that seat backs still work I guess you can eliminate the switches, and probably the relays, so the likely culprit is the heating pads which need replacing. If they're easy to access you can test the resistance and continuity with a multi meter which will confirm.

I doubt the cost for replacementspads is much (Assuming their not integrated in to the upholstery like the w124), but the labour cost may be quite prohibitive depenending on how hard it is to remove the upholstery. I have no idea re the W203 sorry.

It might be worth replacing the dead pads with aftermarket ones from waeco or similar which are available online for about £50 a set.

Unfortunately its a common problem on those AMG seats... and the heated pad is sewn into the leather... not cheap.

We replaced with Waeco once but it didnt work terribly well due to the way the seat is designed.

Exacto same problem on my c32.
I was going to have a go with these when I had a sec, but it'd be interesting to see what results anyone else has had with these. I was figuring, under the leather, if these died, they were cheap enough that not much was to be lost.

There is a good guide to W203 seat dismantling in the how to here:

No so sure how different the AMG architecture is. I'm sure if you're confident enough anyway to pull the seat apart, you'll figure it out.. .

Thanks all, maybe no so important !! :-)
