Are there any good leather diy upgrade kits ?

People are always surprised that the parts for their £80k-£100k car didn't get any cheaper :-) (in fact the opposite) - I've always told SL owners (especially those with the air suspension) to always keep £2k in the bank for surprise repairs to suspension / brakes / COMAND.

There is an eBay seller called Age Styling that does genuine steering wheels at pretty good prices.

If your car has buttons on the back for gearshift, you will need a converter module to make it work with the newer paddles. https://www.commandonline.co.uk/paddle-shift-converter-module.html

What are you trying to achieve ?

Thank you Richard.

I'm just trying to get a chunkier steering wheel without the £300 price tag. Sending my wheel away for three weeks to have a sewn on leather sleeve doesn't add up as it's something I can do myself. If can get the leather sleeve supply only I'll be a happy bunny :)

I can recommend someone who can do this, but I think they make the leather sleeve up for each wheel - so no help to you - sorry

I've used Royal Steering Wheels in Aylesbury in the past. Jack is very good, quick turnaround and very reasonable on pricing. He does lots of high quality work and the finish is superb. Spoken very highly of on Porsche and other specialist marque forums. Works in various leathers and alcantara.

I have used Royal Steering Wheels to modify my CLS wheel.

Very reasonably priced and a quick turnaround.
