Hi folks!

I've been away for a wee while (had a nightmarish three years tbh) and hit rock bottom but I won't go into that.

The long and the short of it is that I'm trying to get myself back on my feet.

I'm trying to set up a wee business in the Glasgow area.

My folks are going to help with the lease and some machinery but I'm in dire need of office furniture!

If anyone could possibly help me out with some office furniture it would be greatly appreciated.

I could use some desks, chairs, cabinets, filing cabinets, drawer units tables etc.

Even old flat panel monitors or an old flat panel tv if anyone has just replaced theirs would help?

I'm in North Lanarkshire so that's the Glasgow Area really.

I could collect over next weekend if anyone has anything as I'm going to try and borrow a van.

Please PM me if you could possibly help me out.

I'm not advertising my business but just asking for help.

Anyone who can help will get a good deal from me when it's all set up ;)

Regards,

KJ

KJ.

Sadly your just a week too late. I have a client whose lease surrender should complete tommorow near Eask Kilbride and who have left most of their office furniture behind.

It's well used, but perfectly servicable.

I can give you the landlords agents details if you would like? I suspect they are going to throw it away, and would be pleased to see some of it gone.

I'm too far away to be of much practical help, but wanted to wish you good luck! The people on this forum are sure to come up trumps. What will you be doing?

BTW - well worth signing up on Freecycle in your area. Go look here

Speak to your local chamber of commerce too. I know that a lot of businesses will give the stuff away if it is collected

Typically you can't give the stuff away. I have had in the past to pay for removal when time has been an issue

I've come across that myself in the past.

Unfortunately I didn't need anything until know!

Typical isn't it?

try asking on free cycle. lots of good stuff posted/offered on there all the time.

i have an old 19" (maybe 17" cant rememebr!) computer monitor up in the attic you can have if you can collect it from me (either dunfermline or edinburgh) - its the old large CRT type but you are welcome to it if you want it. (bought around 2002 so not antient but its not TFT)

cheers

no probs - its unlikely to go anywhere in the near future.... yours when you want it. i probably have a PC you can have too if its any use but need to delete stuff off HD first etc.

London's too far, isn't it... Because I have a top-of-the-range screen (1997 CRT, but 21" and made for graphics design) and a 18" (or so?) early TFT (with 2 input sockets, so 2 PCs and 1 monitor!)

That would be perfect!

Whereabouts in London are you?

:)

SW10 - near Fulham Road. As a warning - the monitor is deep and heavy but gives very good picture (and can do huge resolutions, even HD (by definition only!)). It's a Viewsonic PT813. It has one VGA socket and one set of BNC sockets for an old fashioned security camera. The other monitor is a bit shabby but was extortionately expensive when new. It's an EIZO - can't remember the model, but ~18", integrated USB hub and 2 VGA sockets. Both are cream coloured but in good nick.

And I can print off a copy of the manual for the large one, and I think for the EIZO

Still interested? They're here, just reply here or send me a PM if/when you want to collect
