Hi All new to the forum with Purchase of C43/55 convert

Hi andy whats the part number you have for the timing cover?

Will do for sure.

I'l make a start on striping the engine down for the new chain and cover while a look a stare at the front end of the car and decide what to do.

when we had the car up in the air and had a look underneath looks like the whole chassis leg on the passenger side has been pushed back/downwards and sideways. and the driver side leg has got a kink in it.

Oh what to do??

I noticed that the plug for the air pump on the front on the engine was disconnected. Do you know why this would be.

When I did the conversion we removed the original 55 engine loom and used the 43 one as the 43 didn't have an air pump there was no wiring for it the plug not connected to anything is there on every 43.
The air pump was on the 55 engine and I just never removed it, there is also some air solenoids on the inlet manifold with vacuum pipes on that are not actually used either which can be removed together with all vacuum piping, though the holes in the inlet manifold would need to be sealed up OEM way is to remove the top of inlet manifold and change the gaskets to 43 items as they haven't got the hole in them for the solenoids to go through, I had a pair of gaskets and had planned to do this at some point.
I was going to remove the air pump solenoids all fixing brackets bolts vacuum tubing etc. before they took the car away as a member on here wanted them, but couldn't bring myself to do it.
Sounds like you are going to have to chunk the passenger side with a lump from the donor car and jig the driver's side, to be able to repair it.
I personally think repairing that shell would be better than re-shelling the car as finding a rust free scrap 202 would be neigh on impossible.
I only have the original complete 43 engine minus some pulleys, coil packs, oil filter housing. I am not sure if the 43 timing cover would be the same as the 55 one.

I also have a timing cover, both 55 and 43. (Not that I'm trying to compete with andy!)

To be honest I wouldnt want to split the engine just for the timing cover, also the 43 cover may very well be different to the 55 anyway, it would be better for the O/P to have your timing cover Nic.

the part number i have for the cover is R112 015 10 02 with 11 below it .

NB_racing if u have great.

I've got a couple of M113 engines in my garage at the moment, breaking for spares, including ancillaries.

One is 5.4 w210 E55 and the other is W202 C43.

Let me know if you need anything.

The 5.4 has performance headers on it :-) An easy swap while the engine is out!

What are the headers mate? Have just got a 55 engine for my C43, I'm looking at headers up-grade/performance options. (Not competing with the OP for them I should add)
