Hi:) treading on enemy territory

Hi guys

I'm Chris from Northern Ireland.

I drive a BMW E60 535d and I am a die hard BMW man.

But I have joined here on behalf of my dad who is a MB Enthusiast and hates everything about my car lol.

He currently has 98 SL500 Special Edition which is currently having some electrical gremlins with the roof and alarm and would love some pointers in order to get the car 100% again but I shall put threads up on the appropriate section of the forum on the faults.

So just saying hi and I like the look of the forum

Quite a few have BMWs as said - but even the site owner (I think) has a BMW...

I used to love BMWs and got through a few - best were '97 M3 Evo and '01 Alpina B10 V8.

I like the idea of a 535d - has yours been quite reliable?

I think the 2007 onwards facelift yields better performance and economy - of which you have.

welcome mate i love both marques and always flip inbetween the 2.i have had more bm's than mercs but absolutely love them.you have come to the right place for advice the techy guys on here are worth theyre weight in gold.also a few months back traynors motorbreakers in ireland were breaking an sl so if you need parts to fix maybe try them before the dealers.
