Hiring an S-Class with driver

A colleague is getting married in August, and needs a car and driver to take him from Birmingham to Huddersfield, hang around for the day and drive back.

He fancies an S-Class, and has found a few companies through Google, but it seems mainly W220s on offer. For the sort of money it's costing he's hoping for a W221.

I would be grateful of any suggestions for companies of either type with a good reputation.

I think it would work out cheaper just to hire A W221 for the day or weekend througn a rental company (there are good weekend rates) and just get a mate/firend to drive it.

I suggested if he hires a car let's me join in for dinner, then I'll drive it.

Guy Salmon was £745 IIRC for the weekend, which is more than the quote he's got for a W220 S350 with driver for 14 hours.

I have good friend who used to be a top level chauffeur (ex flying squad detective) unfortunately he is retired a few months now, I can get you a contact number, as he should be able to put you in touch with someone who could help.

He is a nice bloke, he chauffered my Dad gratis when he went to the Palace to collect his gong from HM. I know he had to find some good people to take on his client list and last I spoke to him it was all going well. His last ride was an 07 S Limo.

well its costing an absolute bomb but after realisng that in a classic Mb i can only get 2 other people in on the way to the wedding, the Maybach swung it...
