Some, well in fact all, the stats on these projectiles are simply mind blowing :eek:

The supercharger takes 600hp from the engine to generate 50psi manifold pressure!

The fuel line is 2.5" in diameter and the fuel pump delivers 100 gallons per minute.

The engine map is only loaded seconds before the run as track and air temps are so critical ..

and so it goes on. Well worth a watch

No-one can ever explain what it is like.

0-315 mph in 3.85 seconds. By the time the back wheels are crossing the start line the car is doing 70 mph.

Yep. 0-70 in its own length.

I used to go to Santa Pod in the early/mid 70's, the sound of top fuel rails and funny cars is still vivid in my memory.

Me to but late 70's and early 80's.

The sweet smell of nitro and the sound one felt not just heard :rock:
 
25 miles away, fancy the friday night blazing exhausts session, kids never been so need a baptism.. :)
