How do you remove the gear knob??

Been bugging me since I bought it... Damn gear knob spins round and I can't undo it or tighten it.....!

Any ideas???

There's a collar on the bottom of the knob. Twist it 90 degrees and pull the knob upwards. They can be quite tight though.

Is it not different for the 124s? I know in the w210/w208 you can do that with gear knobs.

if it's in the W124, you need to undo it at the bottom inside the selector box

If (in a W202 Tiptronic) I just want to replace the badge at the top of the gearshift, can that be levered off separately without having to remove the whole knob?

On my V-Class, the badge on the top was stuck on, I levered it off and under it was a star screw.

Don't know if this helps.
