Hate to admit it, but yes, I ran out of diesel this morning, as usual, fuel light was on, indicating very low (or none as the case turned out to be) Fuel, all of a sudden the EPC light came on and the car died, Put £10 of diesel in the car and continued to turn the car over on and off for upto 20 minutes, to no avail??? Can anyone shed any light on this subject ie, do I have to bleed the system? this is a CDI Engine, so I would have though it would start relatively easily after running out of fuel, am I missing something?
This car is precariously parked so time is tight,

Regards,

Terry.

If it's anything like my E320cdi, you'll need to refill the fuel filter bowl before you try to start it - unscrew the bowl, fill with fuel and refit whilst spilling as little as possible. Providing you have enough in the tank, it should then start after a few attempts. According to the AA man that got mine going, 1 gallon in the tank is NOT enough.
