how long is Paint warrenty?

hi there i have a W202, 1996 model. i had door replaced in march 2001 due to a slight accident on a untreated snow covered road and a lamp post.

anywayz.

Now i have noticed a patch of rust bubbling through. How long was the warrenty on the new door?

It was done from the authorised merc dealer.
Car had a breakin again, and its going in for a new boot and repair to the roof.
They have agreed on sorting that rust and some other for £220 inc Vat.

But i havent mentioned that the main rust patch is on the new door fitted by them.

please can someone help me or should i jus pay up???

Spoke to the garage who carried out the work and they said that any work that they only carries 1 years warrenty. They are an approved mercedes garage.

is this true?

What gets me is, paint can take a few year to rust..
