I was just wondering if anyone knew how much oil is needed in a service for a SLK 32 AMG

Thanks

Oil capacities are in the handbook.

Its for an 'A' service. Someone told me its 9 litres i need, but i assumed that will be too much.
I would have checked the book but its kinda misplaced ha ha. Cant seem to locate it

I supplied 8 litres of Mobil 1 when I had mine serviced (same engine) - they didn't return any surplus, nor did they charge me extra.

The cynic in me makes me think the tech kept it for himself and used the oil out of the huge barrel they get it from if you pay dealer prices.

8 Litres (2 containers of Mobil-1) is right for my SL and MLs (all 5L V8s) (well, I dont get any back and dont get charged for any more either, and I know the guys pretty well)

Engine oil capacity is 8.5L when I last looked at the book(s), but I guess half a litre remains stuck to the inside of the engine.

Supply your own Mobil 1 ? Unless you actually see this being poured into your car, my past experience tells me it would go straight in the boot of the mechanics car, and the oil for your change would come out of the 45 gallon drum in the workshop. In most cases, especially in a dealers.

Or, they don't even change your oil at all, they just top it up and charge you for it anyway.

My dealer's barrels are full of Mobil-1 !! And I know the mechanics so I know it ends up in the car.

(they changed from Castrol to Mobil-1 a few months ago, which cheered me up)

Thats good then, you have nothing to worry about

Why have you bumped your own thread when you've been given the answer?
