Seems like a quite a bit of work to put it back in one
Also want to know why only 2800 miles on an 06 plate car..... seems low.
the roof is the integral part of the car. I remember watching that Turbo Discovery Channel a couple of years ago (salvage makeover) with that Dominique guy as the host.
If the pillar is cut,the car will no longer be fit as it will not be safe.As the roof is part of the chassis.
Speedo is not part of MOTHe's also selling a Clio.
With a faulty speedo. But he can supply an MOT for an additional £50.00 ??
Your man's talking nonsense, if you fit a rear qtr you end up cutting into the post, same goes for an a post at the front (all parts mercedes sell), if you cut and shut a short back end onto a car the rear post is where you join it etc.
While it looks messy, properly repaired I can't see any safety issues, but it's like everything, if someone does a botch job it won't be much of a car...
It needs VIC to be legal again. It could weaken the chassis if not properly repaired is what I should say.
Not as a Cat D it doesn't, only Cat C requires a VIC check.
As Nick says if it has new rails and roof it will be good to go.
Parts required: http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=716.649&CT=F&cat=69M&SID=63&SGR=015&SGN=01
The mechanicals could fetch £8-£10k if broken.
It's hard to see why the roof was cut off, crash damage looks minimal.
