How much would it be worth for 78' W123 200D Green saloon in perfect body condition (all was done), very clean brown interior, eninge starts, runs without any problems. Everything in very good condition.

It is around 160k miles. Not so sure about service history so think of it as there is none.

Is there market for that kind model? If so how much?

Thanks.

There's very strong export demand for a car like that, expect around £5-700 for a quick sale to the Africans, possibly a bit more if you're not in a hurry.

Performance wise 200D are down there with milkfloats, so aren't as sought after as some W123.

It would be worth quite a bit more in Germany, somewhere around €1100-1500 depending on condition.

Although there any many around, demand is still high.

I understand African market - possible German. What about here? The reason I ask as I have one parked in Poland and I would like to use it here. Trouble is if I register it here it will be no sense to move it back but in case I would need or have to sell it here - what can I expect?

Sell it in Poland, you`ll get less trouble and more money I think

I dont want to sell it. I want to use. But I want to find out vaule in case I would HAVE TO sell it. I love that car and I cant remeber if anyonther car ever made me fell like that.

in todays traffic, they are just far too slow... dangerous really... people just dont expect you to be pulling away so slowly.

:ban::ban: Come on Jay,thay`re not that bad,My second car was a 300d 123

300d are ok and 300 turbo d is even better.. but the 200 is like a little man under the bonnet trying to push the car along. occasionally he will have a red bull and the car will get to 30 but dont count on it.

This car is not about speed. And I bet it will be faster then other that might or not survivie that much time. For me even with this man on one redbull this car is more value then someothers.

I love it and I just consider it to drag it here to enjoy it in UK.

+1

I road tested one when I was looking and bought my 200T. A 200D has all the same attributes as a normal W123 but you can't use it in every day motoring, it's just far too slow. The 240d is borderline!

I'd imagine it would be pretty hard to shift here unless it's in very good condition and someone buys it for a hobby motor once a month on a sunny Sunday.....

I'd happily match the Africans & give you £6-800; I've a 1.9D non-turbo Citroen, I know ALL about slow cars! Come to a hill in that, you can get out and walk to the top and still have time to get your breath back before it catches up!

I think you to critical about speed on this car. I know its not a GREAT BULL or FASTEST car on a road but it does the job of carring you from A to B. But it does it with such a pleasure. But... I just realized it will be pointless to defend it.

germany new emission regulations going to preclude loads of classic cars from being brought or used, but africa lebanon and eastern europe is the market for it, would say price is between 1-1.5k for the buyer who really wants it, and if automatic will be more desirable

You could always drop a 240D engine in to it, an easy swap.

And it will feel like a racing car afterwards.

How hard would it be to swap to 300D or 300TD?
