I understand that the ML's booster/amp is to the rear - but how do i get at? There are storage panels in the rear, but no obvious access to an amp?

I reckon there's a loose connection or a fuse gone, causing my radio to sound like a fuzzing whisping pile of poop. The head unit was replaced and connections are all good there.

LHD cars have it at the front, deep inside the cluster when you look at it from the driver's footwell, the cover removed. I'm not sure if this is symmetric for RHD cars.

Are you referring to the fuse cluster there?

The fuse cluster should be reachable from the engine compartment, the amp would be reachable from inside the cabin. As above, remove the panel on top of the footwell (or from the bottom of the cluster, depending on how one wants to view it).

WIS tells the right hand side panel should be removed from RHD cars (and then shows a LHD car for instructions on removing the panel  ). I guess the amp then could be at the driver's side in both cases but I'm really not sure about the RHD models.
