Yesterday, we went down to York for the day.

A superb day out but changeable weather. From sunshine to extreme thunderstorms.

My W220 performed brilliantly. It's got 132k miles under it's belt but still returned 28mpg on a 450 mile run averaging just under NSL.

But I experienced something for the first time when refuelling at Scotch Corner on the way back - around 7pm.

Can you guess what it was ?

Better still, a group of truckers invite you...

Depends if you are proud of it, or ashamed of it? :D

Let's put it this way... will you fill-up there again?

Neither proud nor ashamed. It was the first time it has ever happened to me and I shared the experience with a few other drivers at the same time. I'd certainly use the petrol station again.

No, they were not truck drivers :D

....er, no.

There a couple of clues in my OP ;)

OK, must be weather-related then... you were not hit by lightning, I hope?

You were the 1 millionth customer and get free petrol for life.

If it was a Shell station, I think they currently have staff offering to fill your tank for you (and trying to persuade you to buy V Power).

Yes, seen that elsewhere, I personally prefer to fill-up the car myself, but I do think this is a very good idea that many motorists will appreciate.

The Mrs offered to pay?;)
