I got a bit carried away and ended up here!

The advice is good and I certainly do want to make sure it's all tuned nicely but... I've just realised: Ollie of PCS was the one telling horror stories of SL65's being proper money pits on some of the topics I read as a lurker here before I registered.
I think I might be afraid to go and see him in case he persuades me I've made a horrible horrible error getting this!

I highly recommend Olie PCS and have been to see him on several occasions, well worth the trip.

But... if you are happy with the service and prices at Auto Deutsch, then that's fine too. I don't think anyone here is trying to convince you to do something that you are not comfortable with.

Well I wasn't being entirely serious when I said I was 'afraid' to go and see him... (Sorry, I should probably make more use of smilies)
If he's recommended so highly, he's clearly worth a visit.

It was simply that, on a couple of threads about people thinking of getting SL65's, his was the voice warning firmly against on grounds of the ongoing costs one of his clients experienced. Now clearly, he's just doing the right thing and making sure folks go into it with their eyes open but being less than 10 days into SL65 ownership, I thought I might just string out the honeymoon a little bit first ;)

:O

Excuse me I have a 500.... soon to be 595
(Oh dear... I'm not doing well with upsetting people today!)

Sorry, they're very 'cute' as I'm sure you are :thumb: - but I'm still pleased she's in a SLK350 instead!

As you say, the 65 can be very scary

Olly looks after my CL55 and is highly recommended and you will love the drive down the A3 to Horndean

Ah, see, now that's really starting to sell the idea... the A3 element is indeed an attractive plus.

Buy a ski rack!

Yes, all these ski racks are a nice idea in principle but the skis never fold up properly when U put the roof down

Seriously though, such arrangements are fine if you're just zipping off to your local hill to ski but I tend to be carting up to 20 pairs of skis, banners, sound system etc between London and the Alps - the point of getting the van was to free me from the responsibility of getting a 'practical' car!

However, if someone else was to drive the van for me...

Be careful what you wish for………..I retire soon (all things being equal). Food & board buys me and the wife; compensation for the shame of being in a VW ;)

Welcome to the forum - a great intro and what a combination of cars!

Love it.
