Right...ATF booked in at Prestige...most efficient on phone...unfortunately not till 8th...but...then a trip to Scotland so good timing I hope!

And maybe the Brabus fitted by then too! ???

P.S. Thanks to DSM and bang on the £200 you mentioned.

There is a good cafe under 10 minutes walk away (come out of PCS toward the main road and turn right and walk down the hill) where you can have a good breakfast / lunch whilst you wait :)

OK, just returned from Prestige after the ATF job...also they took a look over my somewhat less than perfect gal, and luckily...so far...not a huge amount wrong apart from a bad wing repair when it was Cat D'ed...Needed a replacement gerabox sump cover as rusty, and nearside font suspension arm but other than that...well now decision time on my Scottish trip...do I remap and get a couple of jobs done as well to tart her up a bit, or sell amd add some to get something else. Ollie reckons an E350 coupe would be good step up...so...your thoughts and eyes open for a good E350 poss...not saying will but if right one comes along may...

And big thanks to the team at Prestige...friendly, efficient...all round good guys and gals!! Don't too many of you rush there though...want to be able to get in the diary again!!

Where in Scotland are you going?
Bring it here while you're up, then there would be 3 blumin' CLKs parked on the drive.!

Naaahhh... just use the Khyber Pass when you are crossing, the border guards there are very friendly.

A Carry On ref I assue! :) Well as can see made back safe and sound. The camouflage worked a treat! as have Scots blood half not entirely impostor.

Hi all! been busy boy.

Someone clear up something please?

Have dotted various issues around various forums and threads, but thought what have been doing is almost a projcet...not sure given the greats big jobbies (cars and work) some have done or are doing on that forum....but, even if my approx £3k spend on all sorts doesn't count, sees I don't have enough privileges to post a thread there? OK ONLY a CLK 320 CDI Sport pack Avantgarde interior, not a V8! Sorry! Ok! Is that why not enough privileges? :)

Anyhow, the work crosses engine, body etc so not going to keep dipping in and out of each forum to tell you and show you some of so far and later when done all can. If you care about a modest CLK (EDD apart of course!)

Am going to break this sown into phases and a bit of background first.

Birth of my relationship with Cecelia K. Just thought of that...maybe? Maybe not!

Bought on impulse (dumb me) from literally a backstreet dealer in Brum a couple of years back. Paid £5400 at 77k miles and CAT D,...yes prob too much! But had drive and...well some of you know...I know the V8s will laugh but for me it was great after a few duller than motors....engine and gearbox felt fine and strong. Body, inc

So, took on a trip to Scotland the day after I bought it and she flew so I was in love...then took to have check over belatedly but within 14 days, fearing the garage would find all sorts wrong...but they said was pointing in the right direction and no major signs of any major probs yet...you wait!

Happily I drove, minus the potholes and ruined roads, until at about say six Months and futher 6 k miles...turbo blew up...common am told..

Managed to get done at friendly local place for about half or more what main dealer or merc specialist quoted. Happy days, until...

I ran over a dead deer trying to avoid a live one, and my sis borrowed. Firts did all sorts of damage to the undertrays, prob already scuffed up bad...and the second, as she drove back off the kerb she had parked too far over, ripped off the ac rad and condensor..

OK, so two years and four services later I arrive here and you guys do the business with advice and places to go!! THANKS, and the project is progressing well. I will post in sections to avoid interminable essay.

PART ONE - Cecilia K project ;-)

Told here ATF change good idea and PCS recommended. Have already positively reviewed PCS and the work elsewhere so won't repeat too much. Suffice to say they did just before my latest Scottish 1000 miler trip, and so glad as what if not done maybe!! Also sorted out a steering arm and the gearbox sump plate rusted.

Then before trip took to good tyre place near me and had all tracking done as well as two new P Zeros on rears.

Did I say elsewhere? :)

Leg 1 Journey..dep 1830 arr 0115 after approx 1 hour stops and whatever mileage Winch to Mussleburgh via M6...what a drive!

After jaunt to Trossachs (some nice roads but tad narrow in places and too twisty for getting up to (safe but fun) speed, and pootling in Edinburgh:

Leg 2 dep 0600 arr 1400 after approx 1hr 10 stops and 471 miles (inc bloody Borders diversion for miles not prop signed!) at avge of 68 mph and 38 mpg! fun

Best thing despite her 'sporty' suspension etc, was zero back or leg probs on arrival both ends.

Part 3

During after Scots trip considered selling her now before worthless and maybe either better condition one or step up to Eclass.

On advice from Olly at PCS regarding cost of good E Coupe, and looking at what on market, decided could not afford good enough E, wanted to love mine and so spend some more.

Back to PCS for:
Replace air con rad and condensor and recharge
New front and rear undertays plus wheel arch panels and jack point blocks (whey do they go awol deign engineers?)
Oh yes, and they did something to the engine I didn't understand ;-) Something to do with an ecu and a map? Errr, no idea!! :)

Chapter three next...wheels and body...plus maybe some pics!

Part 4 inc pics!
As she is now with 'new' wheels and calipers in silver too...no red or yellow for me...not right car..may look good on some...but want to be subtle...and understated too some extent..sort of more Catherine Deneuve than Sophia Loren,,,though gawd bless 'em both...they have both provided me with many a happy thought, or two! Anyway, back to car. SEE VOTE IN BODYWORK forum for new wrap colour!
Pics

But before I do, some of you will no doubt notice it is not clean, and prob the flaws from the cat d repairs I did not do!!

Ok here goes first reveal of Cecelia K! Here anyway!!
