The DVD player for the driver (allowing for split screen) should be disabled when driving, few would recommend it was enabled as its illegal!

It should already be disabled. If not, someone has illegally enabled it.
It can be disabled again through the Comand options on my car.

Most indies will have access to STAR and yes you can buy "copies" yourself but for newer cars that wont work as Mercedes have tightened up and made online access with licenses a requirement I believe
