hello

i have a e220 cdi with 137 k on the clock.
it rocks - i have had it for over 50 k miles and i was surprised at how comfortable my life has been with it.

there is a strooong smell of deisel now.
and deisel puddles after parking up under the engine.
wisps of smoke arise from under the bonnet after coming off the motorway
the engibe bay has deisel on it and many of the rubber pipes have desiel on them corring them.

i have just taken it to regular garage who said there is deisel in three of the four injector areas.

i wonder if a fuel line / injcetor cleaner will sort it
or if it is a seal problem
and where i can get the injectors for better than £279 each

thanks in advance

Try changing the small black rubber return pipes that link the injectors first. This pipe can be bought from most motor factors and comes in 1 metre lengths. Worked wonders for my E300 diesel, goes better too.
Good luck.

Now for the bad news !!!

CDi injectors have a habit of leaking and failing. If you're lucky you might see some on ebay.

fuel return pipe and t connectors £20 and 5 mins to fit
