Hi to all.
I've recently been experiencing a problem when driving my merc. I'll try to explain as best I can.
Whenever I push the accelerator pedal for more power the pedal shakes slightly, enough to notice, and then picks up. It happens on flats as well as on a steep hill, there is no difference. I suspected that the injectors would be slightly dirty so I applied a full can of fluid, that assures you it cleans the injectors, inside the tank. Incidentally it's diesel. I haven't noticed anything different up to now. My other impression is that it could be a fault with the clutch. If I'm driving on a motorway at a constant speed it's faultless. It's not a major problem but I would rather it wasn't there.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated before I take it to the dealer.

Regards.
Ted

There is no clutch as such with an auto.

You may have a drummong torque converter. A very common issue.

This means I need a new torque converter? or is there any other solution?
Thanks

They can be re-furbished.

Thanks for your help. I'll inform the dealer on my next service due in Feb 11 approx. Will I cause any damage by using it till then? Has it got to be done by the official dealer, or can it be done by any other garage?
Again thanks for everything.
Ted
