Injectors problem

Very disappointed
I took the car to Watford (Hertfordshire ) dealer after they confirmed the car is for recall and that it will take 3 days to fix
I met there someone introduced himself to me and was very arrogant he told me he has to check if this recall apply to my car first
I explained that his colleague confirmed this to me and told me they ordered some parts for the injectors and that it will take 3 days to fix
He called me next day saying the recall apply to my car and all the injectors need change and that they ordered it but this will take 4-5 days so he recommended me to collect the car and wait for his call and all will be done for free
I refused and explained that I am happy for them to keep the car until it is fixed
The next day he told me good news! The parts are here and the car will be ready after 2 days
I was contacted by them next day saying 2 tyres need to be changed and I agreed to change them
Today I went to collect the car after work . He gave me a receipt and I paid for the 2 tyres
I assumed the change of injectors will be mentioned and because I was tired after long day at work I did not look in the receipt
Of course nothing on the receipt about the injectors !!!!
I am really worried they have not done anything
Please advise me what to do ?
I am going back to the tomorrow morning
Please give me your opinions before tomorrow morning
Thank you

The invoice for the injectors will be billed to warranty hence it's not on your receipt. You could ask them for confirmation that the work has been carried out (copy of said invoice)

This is an issue that I often encounter.

Dealers do not provide any documentation regarding work carried out under warranty. I have experienced this with my Vauxhalls and with the Merc.

It is quite arrogant, they may do the work for free but the car is mine, not theirs, and I am entitled to know what has been done to it.

I once insisted on this point with a Vauxhall dealer and eventually they gave me a photocopy of their internal job sheet.

Totally agree

Going by my experiences with MB Watford, they won't have been done. Ask them for proof that the injectors were changed.

I think you can rest assured that it will have been done. However, the issue of not giving the 'customer' any paperwork is my experience as well, which was 10 years ago.

When the car was collected after its first service, I was told 'we've carried out some work under warranty as well, but it's all been done now, sir'.

Having just given me general waffle about 'it' having been covered under warranty, I tactfully reminded the service manager that it was my car (well, more accurately, my wife's) and that I wanted to know exactly they had changed on 'my' car. It wasn't their's, or Mercedes', and I wanted to know what they had done. Only then did he explain in detail (2 diesel injectors replaced as they were outside 'tolerance').

So, It seems to be common practice and is probably their way of 'problems' being kept out of the public domain.

Having said that, on a recent service the (new) service manager went to great lengths to explain about a 'software' update that they would carry out as part of the service.
