Inlet port shutoff motor m55

Hi, I am in the process of bypassing the inlet port shutoff motor M55 on my 2004 c270 cdi. Once I have put the 4.7 ohm resistor in,
what position should I leave the arm on the motor. Should the ports be open or closed or doesn't it matter. Any assistance
much appreciated

open of course, you might get occasional limp if you let them close.

The swirl flap motor on my om642 is a spring return I think. It only powers to the closed position. The spring holds the arm in the open position without any power applied. You need a 4.7kohm resistor.

Thanks gents, Resistor fitted and as stated the spring hold the arm in the open position
