Well - after seeing some of the amazing engine bays pictured here, spent an hour tonight with some soapy water (car shampoo), liquid wax polish (stuff I had lying around in the garage) and some nice tyre/trim dressing I bought recently - before and after pics below.

This is nowhere near as good as the superb engine bays which reflect the time and effort (and tender loving care) but, am happy with the results for what is just a quick surface clean - the next step is to look at (carefully) using the pressure washer and some engine cleaner to get a really deep clean.

I'd be very very wary of putting a pressure washer anywhere near an engine bay. Better to have a bit of surface crap on it than problems with ruined electronics.....which could be a real pita to even diagnose.

Excellent! much better. :) 👍

I bought some 400:1 TFR from eBay after reading the engine bay thread. It is really good stuff. Follow the instructions and it works a dream. Really good for cleaning the wheel arch liners too. I have a strong mix in a spray bottle and then use a weak mix through the jet wash. Great for cleaning the drive too!
