Hello friends
I am new to this forum and belongs to rural area of Pakistan. Friends, I have bought a Mercedes 190D w201 1987. Due to lack of mechanics and parts It is very hard to handle such a nice car. Presently I am getting heatup problem with my engine due to fan installed in my car with clutch. I am unable to find a new fan for this here. I found an electric w202 fan from a scrapyard yesterday and wanted to install in into my mercedes w201. Can you please guide me that is it possible to install a w202 auxiliary electric fan into my w201.

Find below the image of the fan.

Looking forward for your kind reply

I was hoping someone with specific knowledge of your car would advise but in that absence I'll attempt a more generalised approach.
Fit the fan units to the radiator on the same side they were on the W202 by whatever method you can. It should be possible to fix them to the radiator's edge(s) and secure them with whatever you have at hand. Tywraps (zip ties) are useful. I suspect from other threads I've read on the subject that you will have difficulty removing the old fan - in which case clearance may be a problem.
As for wiring them an ignition switched live feed passing through a thermoswitch is required. But I'm guessing that already exists for the electromagnetic clutch on the existing fan, so merely extending the wire to it to the new fans should suffice, adding a relay if the fuse blows. You will also have to earth the other wire. (Watch for correct polarity or the motors will run in the wrong direction!)
Search this forum for 'fan removal' if you are struggling to remove the old one and have to to clear the new ones as there are a few threads on the subject. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
