Hi

As I didn't want to fit sensors through the bumper or pay for the Mercedes system I bought a AA badged system that uses RF sensors to detect objects which only requires and aerial strip to be stuck on the inside of the bumper and thena connection to the reverse lights. I have installed the aerial and run the wires to the inside of the boot but for the life of me cannot find the wire to the reversing lights. I have tested every wire I can see and it either is a 12v without the reversing lights on or stays at 0v with the reversing lights on. This is driving me mad :wallbash:

Does anyone know where the best plase to tap into the reverse lights in the boot of a 211 and what colour wire it is?

Thanks

Yes. Take it from the rear light cluster cell. If its easier, follow that wire back to the rear SAM and tap off it there.

From memory its either White, purple or grey I think.

I put one of these sensor strips on my wife's Golf - they are absolutely useless! Some rain on the bumper sets them off.

Thanks Alfie

The problem is that the reverse light is in the tailgate rather than the light clusters and it doesn't appear easy to get to it - I think these are long life bulbs and not designed to be easily changed. I was hoping someone knew without having to take all the rear tailgate trim off.
Is the SAM the box in the boot compartment that also contains some fuses?

Cheers
