Insurance ?

£1036!!!!

Fuzzer are you 19, with max points and living in a war zone?

I be thinking each of you need to use a comparison site like compare the meerkat or money supermarket...

£410, protected no claims(3 years),wife as named driver,Admiral.

Liverpool Victoria are good for Mercedes. And the What Car policy is via LV too. Good cover and good reputation. On my 2008 E220 cdi estate we pay £260 with max no claims for husband and wife. Many other quotes wanted at least double.

I've renewed with them a week ago and, of the four car insurance policies that I look after, it was the only one where the renewal couldn't be beaten using comparison sites or other checks. On both my daughter's policies I saved them over £100 vs their renewal invitations by shopping around.

However LV seems to vary - I've suggested others, with apparently similar circumstances, try them and they've reported that the quotes are way out.

I'm 20, hold a full UK Pass-Plus License, 3 years claim free driving, No points/convictions, 2 years NCB, have owned my Mercedes 190E 2.5 16V since last August. It renews in April at £1550. The cheapest quote I've found so far is around £1400 Fully Comprehensive with Direct Line. I'll be shopping around more nearer the time.

I thought £250 was dear for my c220 cdi estate, but perhaps not having read the above. (65 8yrs ncd)

Its looking like mine will be £400ish, with Protected NCD, Nil Voluntary Excess, (£150 Comp Excess), etc ectc.
Not quite sure if its because of my little Wing v Lampost incident last year, and whether as a result they think I'm losing my way, (), or a combination of that and letting me loose in a £20k Benz with 230bhp :bannana:

But if anyone else has any ideas, throw them down if you would please, I've taken up the MB Comp 7day Cover so can mess about with it for a few days etc.

Thx

The UK average insurance policy cost is around 700 I believe, so we're distributed fairly well around this given the marque.

I'm with Elephant, but only because they won the Confused.com pricing game with me. £720 this year, iirc, but that's a 10m policy (still works out cheaper than the best 12m policy) and I only have 1y NCD available. Aged 30, HP postcode, kept on drive, insured for social, commute and moonshine runs.

Web comparison sites are good for anybody who fits the high volume low premium business. Ring a broker if you are young, male, low NCD years Etc.
If you are lucky you will find an insurer who has just lowered their premiums to attract your business - perhaps postcode/age/make of vehicle - as they need to spread their risk.
About 3 weeks before last renewal I was getting quotes from about £410 up to £1400, a week before renewal it dropped to £360 and they added protected NCB, full European breakdown, legal cover and key cover within the lower premium.
