SL600 on PH

If I wasn't already SL'd up I'd be very interested in this.........I would imagine there were very very very few SL600s registered in 2000.

That numberplate doesn't come up on the DVLA website?

JJ 1394 isn't on AskMID either but JJI 394 is registered to a Jeep Cherokee .

Surely thats JJI 394 cheap irish cover on an SL600...

maybe its recently been transfered for the sale? so records not updated.

No easy way to check it's really a 2000 then ...

Dash looks like the facelifted version so it cant be any earlier than '99 can it?

Its on at a seemingly decent dealer so would be surprised if its not as advertised. Perhaps an Irish regd car imported though, or just on an irish plate.
The plate cheapens it IMHO - first thing I would do would be to get it on a boggo UK plate.

My 60 has done 92K and the seats are not nearly as worn......

I'm thinking that the photo was taken using a flash which tends to highlight minor shade differences like that.

I suspect in daylight it will look much nicer.

Interesting point though. I've seen so many SL's and seat wear varied wildly and didnt seem to be closely linked to mileage. Either there are a hell of a lot of clocked SL's out there (more than half of them) or some people or some cars wear the drivers bolster out very quickly.

They are quite difficult cars to clamnber in and out of without rubbing the bolster so I've sort of suspected that some people had the knack and others didnt

The first thing i do if i buy a UK car is put it on an Irish plate.

Each to their own i suppose.

Not great photo's of such a car, even the ADS is pumped right up! Would look muck better in normal mode!

Looks higher at the front than the rear. No pictures from the right hand side of the car either ... maybe that side is low :D

This is what ADS raised looks like (my car)

Could it be a Jersey plate?
Lots of cars over there have low mileage too, but I don't know if their plates are legal for mainland UK residents.

I've just had the interior valeted on mine.
The driver seat was in really bad condition, particularly the bolster which had lost most of the original colour.

The leather has been restored including respray of damaged areas matched to the rest of the vehicle and it looks like a 6 month old car.
Also all carpets have been wet-vacuumed and cleaned. The interior looks fantastic and I would recommend the company, which is based near Watford:

Nice 'N' Kleen - Domestic, Commercial cleaning and Upholstery Cleaning

Actually the ADS switch is quite easy to hit by mistake. It's a simple rocker switch, right next to the knob that controls the lights. I did it a couple of times when I first had the car ... wondered about the nose rising so much when I accelerated :o

Above a certain speed it does drop back down to 'normal' height.
