Interesting use for an S-Class!

There I was driving into Waitrose in Norwich yesterday, when I saw this S500 in the car park.
It made me chuckle, so I thought I'd take a photograph to show you guys

Ah! Norfolk!
The canoe is reasonably aerodynamic, what's the problem?
It's a little known fact that the AMG kit drops the Cd of the S class by a couple of points...but probably not as much as the canoe!
I see it is parked in true Norfolk fashion as well.
And fact: Norfolk is the driest county in England, maybe he knows something we don't!

Well i lived for 20 odd years and all i can remember is the wet and rain.

This is Mercedes new crash safety system.

In the event that the car skids off the road and ends up in a river, upside down, the optional "boat-tronic" system reacts instantly and a canoe is deployed, airbag-style, out of the sunroof, to prevent the car's occupants from drowning.

Here is a photograph of an early prototype undergoing rigorous testing......

As you can see, the open sunroof shows that the boat-tronic has been deployed, but it appears not to have operated correctly on this occasion.
